This break will include walks through the Soudley bluebell woods and a visit to Lydney Park gardens, famous for its rhododendrons and home to Viscount Bledisloe.
Transport is laid on for each visit, with stops at viewing points and the services of a knowledgeable local guide: bring your camera for some great shots of babbling brooks, woodlands, and wildlife!

We are always on hand to offer advice if unsure and recommend that beginner students telephone prior to buying an extensive set of paints and equipment!Alison is a self- taught artist and has 30 years’ experience in Watercolour painting and has been successfully teaching watercolours for four years.Alison believes that anyone can paint given some core techniques.Whatever your interests and age, the Forest of Dean and Wye Valley makes a great holiday destination, whatever the weather.Come and share some refreshing fellowship in the beautiful gardens of Lindors Country House hotel!Take a swim, or enjoy some putting or croquet on the lawn.Should you want to get out and about independently, we can always point you in the direction of local attractions that include Puzzlewood (used as a filmset for Star Wars, Merlin, and the Harry Potter films), Symonds Yat, or the spectacular Tintern Abbey.There will be opportunities for some gentle walks from the hotel too, or time to explore independently at your leisure.When you get back, enjoy the roaring log fire in Lindors lounge, or sit out on the veranda to take in the views of the garden lake.Most walks are 6-8 miles, but they are generously timed for your enjoyment. Walk along the west side of River Otter to the sea at Budleigh Salterton. Return by inland route through Hazelwood and past Beer Caves back to Beer. Walk from hotel to the east to the coast path up Salcombe Hill. Rejoin the coast path at Dunscombe Cliffs and walk back to Sidmouth via the pretty village of Salcombe Regis.Then follow an inland route along the old railway line with a gradual ascent to arrive on the coast path on the cliffs at West Down. Walk from hotel west up Bulverton Hill, then cross Muttersmoor to the coast path at High Peak. Then follow a route partly along the coast and partly inland to pretty village of Otterton.
